The Leipzig
Christmas Market is one of the oldest and biggest Christmas Markets in Germany.
The market history goes back to 1458 and each year, more than 2 million
visitors come to Leipzig to enjoy Christmas time on the market. The 250
Christmas stalls offer not only food and the famous Glühwein (hot spiced wine) but also local and regional handicraft
products, candles, cloths or Christmas decoration, just to name some.
Many
fairground ride attractions like the historic merry-go-round offer fun,
especially for children. On the Finnish village at Augustusplatz visitors can
enjoy Scandinavian flair. And what would be a Christmas market without
Christmas music? The Leipzig Christmas market is always worth a visit.
